INSPECT

Our licenced Builder and Inspector will complete a thorough inspection of the property at Practical Completion (PCI) stage. We identify Safety Hazards, Non-Compliance, Substandard Workmanship and Incomplete Works in line with the QBCC Standards and Tolerances.

If you are not present to discuss this in person, we will call you on completion with a summary of our findings. We explain everything in a way that’s easy to understand.

REPORT

We email you (and your Builder if you provide their email address) a comprehensive report outlining all defects. The report includes detailed photos of each item and references the QBCC Standards and Tolerances to help avoid disputes.

We’re available if you have any questions after reading through your report.

RECTIFY

The Builder is responsible for rectification of defects identified in the report and should liaise with you, as the homeowner, regarding this. We use safe, removable tape to identify defects for the assigned trade responsible to rectify.

RE-INSPECT

We recommend a Handover Re-Inspection after completion of rectifications to verify all items have been addressed and ensure the quality of workmanship. This is the final tick before you take possession of the home.

We send through another detailed report of any outstanding items following the re-inspection and as always, we’re here to talk through any questions you may have.

  • Architraves & skirtings aren’t chipped and/or damaged
  • Door margins are consistent
  • Door fixtures including hinges & latches have all the screws
  • Doors have their door stops
  • Architrave mitres are sanded flush
  • Chipped timber to the door & door jamb
  • Door rattles
  • Door latches correctly
  • Gaps under doors are not excessive
  • Doors don’t rub on soft floor coverings
  • Robe door operation
  • Scratched windows and/or sliding doors
  • Window and/or sliding door frame damage
  • Window locks operate correctly
  • Windows slide correctly
  • Window furnishings operate correctly
  • Lights work
  • Light fittings damage
  • Exhaust fans operate
  • Electrical power points & light switches aren’t loose
  • Heat lamp globes working
  • Wall & ceiling paint damage

  • The aluminium angle under the doorways has silicone sealant
  • Soft floor coverings areas are not damaged and/or frayed
